Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Colorado at the base of the world-class ski resort Beaver Creek.  The Avon Police Department was established in 1979.

Over the years our permanent population has grown and we currently service approximately 6,500 year round residents, as well as, up to 15,000 guests and residents at the peak of ski season.  The department has 19 sworn officers and three civilians ready to serve our communities with uncomromising commitment.
